BANGALORE URBAN LAB
The IUL was first curated and implemented in 2015 by Integrated Design (INDE) India, and the International Federation of Housing and Planning (IFHP), Denmark for the Bangalore Metropolis. It explored the relationship between urbanisation, natural resources management (with a focus on water) and informal settlements. The lab was planned in two separate phases. In the first stage, local experts prepared an overview of the challenges and opportunities that Bangalore presents . Critical demonstrative zone to explore strategic design thinking integrating natural systems and informal settlements were identified. In the second stage, a 5 –days workshop involving sectoral experts (local and international) was held. The resulting strategies were documented and shared in the public domain to critically inform the process of policy-making at the city level.

GOA URBAN LAB
In February 2018, INDE along with IFHP, Global Utmaning and the Nordic Innovation at the global level and Kokum in Goa at the local level proposes its second urban lab in Goa. The workshop was designed as a four-day hands on exercise that involved the participants, experts, and various stakeholders. The workshop was curated by the local and international partners. Three sites were explored as prototypes as part of a bigger model for addressing present and future challenges in the region of Goa. On a global scale, these sites illustrated adaptive solutions and resilient measures to climate change. On a micro level, the sites were explored as potential avenues of reviving identity.
